This book is a collection of Doug Smith's proverbs, one for each day of the year, paired with a scripture. The reader is encouraged to look at the proverb and Scripture and following the daily theme, say a prayer out of their own heart. 'Praying Into Heaven' is a daily prayer calendar designed to give a little wood for the fire of prayer. The wood, of course, are the proverbs and Scripture, but the fire of prayer comes from within each of us. While we can pray another person's prayer, at times we also need to learn how to pray our own prayer over our own lives, as well as over the lives of the people around us, family, friends, co-workers, and yes, even our enemies.

I have been praying for people at the alter for over 35 years. When people come to the altar they usually have a prayer request, often their prayer requests are different than what their real need is but they do not realize it. Thinking through why people come to the altar a number of topics keep reoccurring. I have taken 25 of the most common topics and addressed them so that those who are praying will have help with their ministry and those seeking prayer will better find God's heart. TEN DAYS TO PENTECOST - by Rev. Robert J. Smith
In the spring of 2006 I was looking forward to Pentecost Sunday and reflecting on some recent supernatural visitations. Quickly I was reminded of a heavenly visitation, the people's hearts need to be ready. I prepared a daily email to send out to our congregation for the 10 Days preceding Pentecost Sunday. Each day's theme focused on a personal inward reflection. The following year as Pentecostal Sunday approached, I expanded the emails slightly and wrote a small 83 page book and we made them available in advance. I was ill on Pentecost Sunday, but church leaders told me the alter was full of people desiring to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Later I heard that on Pentecost Sunday all but one who came forward found themselves speaking in an unknown tongue. The Holy Spirit was once again poured out. I pray this book will draw you closer to the Lord and you will personally experience a supernatural visitation from the Lord.
